Vegan minced meat is often used in other vegan dishes, for instance, Tacos, Ragu Bolognese or Lasagna. It is common to simply fry the vegan mince 5 minutes and add salt and pepper. The result is… meh.
Here is a recipe how to cook a vegan mince almost as full and tasty as real meat. This recipe can be used as basis in other dishes, for instance, our super tasty vegan Ragu Bolognese better than many meat versions. The goal is to make the vegan mince so tasty you want to eat it as it is. Here is how you do it.
Use a high quality vegetarian mince. Our favorite is Anamma’s mouldable soy mince, but use what is available in your location. The mince should preferably be quite neutral so it does not color the dish with a strange taste.

1. Fry the vegan mince in oil for 25 minutes on low-medium heat. The secret is to to give the mince a crispy texture. If it gets crispy before 25 minutes, go to step 2. If not crispy, continue to fry.
2. Add soy sauce (for umami) and balsamic vinegar (broader flavour). Fry the mince until the liquid has dried up. Add salt and pepper if you wish.
3. Done. Now you can use this mince as a basis in other dishes.
